Prof. Erez's first degree, from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, was in Psychology and Sociology (1965). Her M.Sc. (1969) and D.Sc. (1972) from the Technion were in Behavioral Sciences and Management with an emphasis on Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She spent a post-doctorate year at the Dept. of Psychology, U. of Maryland (1975/6), and sabbatical years at the U. of Illinois (1980/1), U. of Maryland (1985/6, 1989), U. of California at Berkeley (1990), U. of Washington, Seattle (1994/5), New York University (Fall, 1999), University of California at Berkeley, (Fall, 2000), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2005), Beijing University, China (2006). Prof. Erez was the recipient of the  2005 Israel Prize for Management Science. She received the prize for her research in management and organizational behavior and for her contribution towards integrating psychology and management. In 2002 she received an award for  Distinguished Scientific Contributions to the International Advancement of Applied Psychology.  She also received a number of best papers and best symposia awards from the Academy of Management. Prof. Erez’ research areas are: work motivation, cross-cultural, global organizational behavior, and Innovation. She has published two books, three edited books and about one hundred journal papers and book chapters.She has advised about 100 graduate students and some of her doctoral students are now faculty members in various universities in Israel. Erez appears among the most cited authors in the field of management, 1983–2004 (Podsakoff, N.P., et al., J. of Management, 34, 2008, 641-720, Table 9).

Prof. Erez received two fellowships from the Japan Foundation, and Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences to study Japanese Management (1987, 1988). She was invited as a visiting scholar to the Chinese U. of Hong Kong (1994, 2004), to Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2012,  2013, and to Sun-Yat- Sen University in Guangzhou in 2014. Prof. Erez served as the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering & Management, 1996–1998. She is Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Fellow of the Academy of Management and Fellow of the International Association of Applied Psychology. Prof. Erez serves on the Board of the Academy of Management. She is the Past President of Division 1 of Organizational Psychology, The International Association of Applied Psychology (1998–2002). Erez is the former Editor of: Applied Psychology: An International Review (1997–2003). She is on the editorial board of Academy of Management Annals,  co-Guest Editor of Special issue on: “Contextualizing Creativity and Innovation Across  Cultures”, Journal of Organizational Behavior, 2012–14, and co-Guest Editor of Special Issue on:  "Paradox, Tensions and Dualities of Innovation and Change", Organizational Studies, 2013–2015. Shehas been on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes (1988–1999), and of the Academy of Management Journal (1997–1999).
