Abstract:
The recent war in Syria represents a conflict paradigm that departs from the classical two-sided force-on-force setting. There were (and still are) more than two constituents who fight for control over territory and people. We extend the classical, two-sided, Lanchester theory to this multilateral situation and draw some conclusions about the fate of such conflicts.
