In praise of running experiments with confounding variables

Consumers are vulnerable to fraud and other transactions that are not in their best interests. In this talk, Dr. Choplin will review some of her recent research on the cognitive psychological reasons for these vulnerabilities. She will then discuss proposals for government policies designed to protect consumers and the cognitive psychological research on whether any of these policy proposals are likely to be effective.
