Associate Professor Yakov Babichenko has joined the faculty in 2014 He received his Ph.D. from Hebrew University in 2012 and his research work there was done in the Department or Mathematics and the Center for the Study of Rationality. Prior to joining the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion, Yakov spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech, in the Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences and the Center for Mathematics of Information. Yakov is a recipient of 2018 Krill Award for Research Excellence.
Yakov’s research interest is in game theory. In particular, he is interested in adaptive learning in games and the rate of convergence of these adaptive processes. Another, related, area of interest is the complexity of equilibria in games in several complexity models as computational complexity, communication complexity, and query complexity.
